Justice.

I am writing tonight with a happy happy heart.
Late Friday night Nate and I were driving home (in the snow… don’t get me started) and having one of our many weird conversations. It would frighten you the topics we come up with sometimes. Anyways, Nate’s question was, “If you had to have someone killed, who would it be?” As I opened my mouth he said, “And it can’t be me.” So then I had to really think about it. I said that I would choose someone really sick so they wouldn’t suffer any more. Nate said that he would kill someone truly evil like Osama Bin Laden. He said that he was going to wish death upon Osama every morning.

Fast forward until Sunday night.

Breaking News: Osama Bin Laden is dead.

There were tears in my eyes as I waited for President Obama to come on and officially give the news. What a happy day for America. I wish I was in Washington DC or in New York City so I could go out and celebrate with the crowds. Thank Heaven that terrible man is finally off of this earth and I truly believe he is in a place that will give him what he deserves. While I know that his death doesn’t really change a lot: there are still soldiers giving up their lives to defend our freedom, there are still empty places in people’s hearts caused by the destruction of September 11th, and there are still more evil people in the world … Tonight, I think, we can take a breath and soak in the feelings of victory and justice. Tonight we can be even more proud of our soldiers who are the best in the world. Tonight we can feel even more grateful that we live in the USA.
Thank you to the soldiers. We owe you everything.
